How Do I Replace the Fuel Filter on a 2001 BMW 330i

1. Open the glove box. Open the fuse box by turning the two white tabs on either side of it. Remove the #54 fuse, which controls the fuel pump. Remove the gas cap. Start the engine and let it run until it stalls from lack of fuel.
2. Raise the BMW with a floor jack. Lower it onto jack stands at all four corners. Remove the fuel filter protective panel, which is located under the car just to the front of the drivers seat. The panel is held on with four screws that are removed with a Phillips screwdriver.
3. Remove the metal clamp that holds the fuel filter in place using your hand. Loosen the six hose clamps that fasten the fuel lines to the fuel filter. Place a container under the filter to catch spilled fuel. Pull the hoses off of the filter. You may need to twist the hoses with pliers to get them off of the filter.
4. Drain the excess fuel from the filter into the container. Discard the filter. Install the new fuel filter in the same orientation as the old one. Slide the fuel lines onto the new filter. It is recommended to replace the BMW hose clamps with conventional hose clamps that can be tightened with a screwdriver, as the original clamps require a special tool to tighten easily. You can also use a pair of pliers to tighten the original hose clamps a little at a time.
5. Reinstall the clamp that holds the filter in place. Reinstall the oil filter protective panel. Lower the car back to the ground. Reinstall the #54 fuse. Put the fuel cap back on. Start the car and check for leaks.

How Do I Open the Convertible Roof on a BMW 318i

Semi-Automatic Roof
1. Place your car in park or depress your brake pedal. The roof will not open or close if you do not do this.
2. Locate the latches on the inside of your BMW where the convertible top meets the windshield and release them.
3. Push and hold the button that has a picture of a side window and a top on it. This is located on the lower part of your dash, near the heated seats and traction control button. Give the roof a little push to help it start folding. Keep holding this button while the side windows lower slightly and the convertible top tucks under. When the side window goes back up, you can let go of the button.
4. Look to see if the button is flashing. If the button is not flashing, the top is properly tucked away. If it is flashing, push it down again so the top will complete the folding sequence.
Fully Automatic Roof
5. Put car in park or push on brake pedal. This will signal that the car is ready to open the roof; it will not open until it is in this position.
6. Find the button on your lower dash that has a picture of a side window and top on it. Push and hold this button as the side windows go down slightly and the roof folds back.
7. Release the button when the side windows go back up. If the light on the button starts to flash, push it down again until the roof folds back completely and locks.

How do I Put Down the Convertible Top on a 1987 BMW 325i

1. Lower both the driver- and passenger-side windows. You may damage your windows or your soft top if you skip this step.
2. Unlatch both of the two locks above the rear-view mirror. This allows you to lift the top from the front of the car.
3. Unlatch the storage compartment for the soft top using the handle on the left rear of the cars interior. Open the storage compartment cover by using the safety catch.
4. Raise the cover from the front of the car and pull it backward. Place it in the storage compartment using neat folds. Pay careful attention not to scratch or break the rear window, because it folds with the rest of the top into the rear compartment. The entire window and soft top are one piece.
